DNA Relationship Testing
DNA Relationship Testing determines if two or more persons are genetically linked, and what exactly is the relationship. The test
fills in the missing pieces of the genetic puzzle. The results are used for informational purposes, or in legal situations involving
heirs and estates. We will determine how best to answer your genetic question, even if we need to use proximal relatives, or other DNA
samples. Every case is unique.
Tests may involve 1/2 siblings, cousins, aunt, uncle, niece or nephew as well as the more popular tests listed below.
With DNAffirm precisian technology the answer is forthcoming.
DNAffirm testing is the most precise methodology for determining if a genetic relationship exists between persons.
In contemporary society, increasing numbers of people are anxious to determine if they are genetically related to another individual, for a variety of reasons.
Samples used for the test can be buccal swabs using our sample collection kit, or coming to our lab. There may be circumstances where one of the samples is a discreet sample, ssuch as chewing gum, a tooth brush, tissue with nasal discharge, blood on a tissue or fabric etc etc. call us to discuss discreet samples.

Depending on the people available for testing, there are several different testing methodologies that can be used according
to the alleged relationships. An explanation of the various DNA testing methodologies is provided below.
DNA relationship testing is available worldwide through our DNA Sample Collection Kit. The kit is provided
free of charge. Your payment should be included with your samples when they are submitted to us.
Maternity Testing
Test: Mother and child
Determines if a woman is the biological mother of a child.
Siblingship Testing (brother or sister)
Test: Two alleged siblings
Determines the statistical probability of whether siblings (brothers and sisters) share the same two parents or not.
Siblingship tests can identify brothers, sisters and other relationships. This type of Siblingship testing is performed for those who wish to determine if they are full siblings, with both of their parents being the same, or where they suspect they are just half siblings, where they share only one common parent.
Y-STR Male Lineage Test
Test: Two males potentially related through paternal lineage
The Y-STR male lineage test is used to determine whether two or more males are related through their paternal lineage.
Twin Zygosity Test
Test: two alleged twins
Establishes whether fraternal or identical twins, or siblings. Paternity and/or maternity can also be verified.
Missing Parent Test
Test: Child and both alleged maternal or paternal grandparents.
In cases where the mother or father is missing or deceased, this DNA test determines maternity or paternity by using the DNA from the Maternal or Paternal Grandparents.
Avuncular Test (grandparent/aunt/uncle)
Test: Child and alleged grandparent/aunt/uncle
Can be used to assess the biological relationship from the paternal side of the family, even when DNA from the alleged father is unavailable.
Identification profiling
Test: Applicant only
Receive a hard copy of your unique DNA fingerprint for your personal records and/or legal (estate) purposes.
