About The Test

Drug facilitated sexual assault is a crime that involves power, control and may emotionally and psychologically scar a person for long periods of time, if not a lifetime. Most incidents of drug-induced sexual assault are never reported for variety of reasons. People often hold themselves to blame for letting it happen, they may feel that no one will believe them anyway, they may not be absolutely sure of what did happen, and in any event may not know with certainty who in fact was responsible.

Both men and women can be victims.

Viaguard Accu-metric's state of the art technology now makes it possible to identify with certainty any drugs administered or ingested. A urine sample is best for up to five days after the incident hair testing is used and offers a span of detection running from 5 to 90 days.

Using High Pressure Liquid Chromatography, followed by double Mass Spectrometry analysis, anything present will be detected in urine or hair.

The cost of a urine or hair test is $199 which includes prepaid two way FEDEX courier service.

The most common date rape drugs include

Rohypnol (Flunitrazepam)
A Rohypnol pill looks like aspirin and is relatively inexpensive. It is considered the date rape drug of choice and is easily slipped into the victims drink. The victim is physically incapacitated and has impaired judgment making them vulnerable to assault and rape. Because of the memory loss and confusion, the victim is often uncertain as to where and what happened.

Ketamine
Ketamine, originally developed as an anesthetic, is found as a white powder or liquid with a very strong bitter taste. Ketamine causes unconsciousness very quickly, often in a matter of seconds. You may lose consciousness and be overwhelmed by a numbing sensation and hallucinations.

GHB
GHB is primarily known to the general public as a date rape drug. The drug is sometimes used to numb the other person, making it easier to then rape the person. When unobtrusively administered in a drink the victim will quickly feel groggy and sleepy, and will not be able to remember what happened after waking up. Consequently, the evidence and the identification of the perpetrator of rape is often difficult. Although unconfirmed sources say the above, it should be mentioned that GHB has a very strong salty taste and therefore will be tasted relatively easily. In addition, obtaining a correct dosage is difficult; at too high a dosage, the person will lose consciousness, which in a public place will probably lead to an emergency call.

Ecstasy (MDMA)
MDMA (3,4-methylenedioxy-methamphetamine), popularly known as ecstasy or, more recently, as Molly, is a synthetic, psychoactive drug that has similarities to both the stimulant amphetamine and the hallucinogen mescaline. It produces feelings of increased energy, euphoria, emotional warmth and empathy toward others, and distortions in sensory and time perception.
MDMA was initially popular among White adolescents and young adults in the nightclub scene or at "raves" (long dance parties), but the drug now affects a broader range of users
MDMA is taken orally, usually as a capsule or tablet. The popular term Molly (slang for "molecular") refers to the pure crystalline powder form of MDMA, usually sold in capsules. The drug's effects last approximately 3 to 6 hours.

Alcohol
Although most people don't realize it, alcohol is most often cited in cases of date rape. It is considered a date rape drug. Assailants typically use alcohol to impair their victim's judgment and motor ability. Quite often it is also used to dispense another drug in a seemingly unnoticeable manner. Assault victims are not considered at fault even if they had been drinking.

  • Alcohol impairs people's ability to think clearly and recognize risky situations.
  • When impaired by alcohol, a victim is not as able to fight off or escape from a physical or sexual assault.
  • Severe drinking can cause unconsciousness or temporary loss of memory.
  • Alcohol is is virtually present in every sample, but the extent to which is involved in the date rape or drugging situation cannot be determined.

The Viaguard drug screen for date rape and related drugs covers a number of additional substances if their presence is suspected. The screen can also be used to detect any substances you have cause to suspect.

Are there ways to tell if I might have been drugged and raped?

It is often hard to tell. Most victims don't remember being drugged or assaulted. The victim might not be aware of the attack until 8 or 12 hours after it occurred.

  • You feel drunk and haven't drunk any alcohol — or, you feel like the effects of drinking alcohol are stronger than usual.
  • You wake up feeling very hung over and disoriented or having no memory of a period of time.
  • You remember having a drink, but cannot recall anything after that.
  • You find that your clothes are torn or not on right.
  • You feel like you had sex, but you cannot remember it.
